The Kit Kit is a tool for parents who want to use a simple, flexible reward system to encourage good behavior. The basic bundle includes a stall themed container for rewards (the Kit shop), currency (Kitcoins) and price tags. Learn more about how it works here!

Not exactly - It's only a toy in the sense that your kid can use it to pretend play with you; But it is a parent-led activity. In it, you are the 'shopkeeper' and your little one is the 'customer'. They choose an item from the shop and pay with Kitcoins; When they're done shopping, you put it away and out of reach until the next time. You shouldn't let them play with the shop on their own, very similarly to how in real life customers aren't allowed into a shop when a shopkeeper isn't around!

Because it's a hands on set that mimics a real life shop, the Kit Kit naturaly makes your child practice valuable real life skills and values - such as counting, math, delayed gratification, financial responsibility, and abstract value.

The Kit Kit can be used for kids ages 3 and up.

Start out with small-value-low-price items so that your little one can buy things more frequently and the Kit shop gains popularity with them. As they become advanced and receive more Kitcoins, you can start introducing items with higher value and higher prices.

At first, it is important to give your child many opportunities to experience the Kit shop. This builds value for the Kitcoins and makes your child want to earn them.

After that you can turn it into a special occasion (Once a week, or twice a week)

If your child misbehaves, you can always choose to refuse service! 

No, you can design your inventory in a way that doesn't produce clutter! Stock it with consumables, experience vouchers, crafting supplies or temporary toys that get thrown away after some use (such as sticky geckos, play-doh, and paint) to keep the mess under control.

Absolutely not!

You can stock the shop with 

- things you already planned to give (cute house shoes!)

- bite sized treats that come in bulk packaging

- one item that can turn into multiple items (Example: Sticker book turns into multiple sticker sheets, or individual dot art markers that are actually all part of one pack

- experience tokens (Ex: Watch favorite show, buy a helium balloon from the shop)

Definitely, but most (or all) of your rewards for good behavior should go through the Kit shop. If we don't use the shop often, then the perceived value of the Kitcoin diminishes, and so do the opportunities and lessons that come from it.
